Silent Movie

This poem I wrote when I was about fifteen.  I'm not sure what inspired it since it was twenty years ago!  Hope you enjoy!

Silent Movie

The fortress of my mind opens
Like the sky,
the grey steel of twilight
strengthens my thoughts
to come forth vividly,
Such dreary madness inspires
color,
The thoughts are of you,
In a black suit
holding out fingers to
grasp my pale, shivering hand;

My eyes fall to your
Blood-red boutonniere,
A death rose
In a room of white.
A slow beat emanates from
a high-tech sound box;

This is a dream
forming in the sky screen,
A mind movie,
It makes me hate you,
Your thoughts are false,
I close my brain,
The night has come.
