Friday Shoot-Out: Spooky

The Friday Shoot-Out topic for this week was spooky.  I had a hard time with this one but here is my try at it.

I want to wish everyone (who celebrates it) a Happy Halloween!!
I also have a new post on mindfulness on my other blog: findingelsewhere

Optimistic Grace

Optimistic

the road stretches wide
seconds melt into nowhere,
a moment of grace.

Friday Shoot-Out Patterns

This week's FSO is patterns.  This is one of my favorite topics.  There are so many patterns in nature, with so many wonderful colors and shapes.  I am constantly seeing ones I want to photograph.  Here are some of the patterns that I have found interesting.

The picture above was taken in Atlantic City.
This picture is one of my favorites taken at the Butterfly Pavilion in Broomfield, CO.  It is a photographer's paradise.
This is from flowers that John gave me--he is very sweet.

I don't even remember where I took these two shots.  I just found the patterns interesting and snapped away.

These stones are around my apartment complex.  They are a great example of "art in nature".  I hope you enjoyed!

Friday Shoot-Out: Chairs

This week's topic from FSO is chairs from one of my favorite bloggers Jarielyn from writeplace writechick.  I always enjoy reading her posts and highly recommend everyone to visit!

I came across these chairs on a ride to the shore.  I just loved the photo op--the variety of colors and textures were interesting to me.

These are benches at an outdoor place of worship dedicated to Padre Pio.

My cat Winston making a chair a bed.  I hope you enjoyed!!

Trees

Lonely moon rises
in a sky the stars blemish,
trees wave their dark hair.

Friday Shoot-Out: Water, Glass, Shiny Objects, Reflections

This week's topic for FSO is Water, Glass, Shiny Objects Reflections.  I stuck with water for this one.  I know I am a bit late... but better late than never!

I hope you enjoyed!

Friday Shoot-Out: Black and Orange

The FSO topic for this week is Black and Orange. At first, I had thought, "I am not going to find anything but halloween stuff!" Then, I began to look around and discovered orange and black everywhere; I also found some in my archive. This shoot-out reminds me of one of the reasons I love being a part of the FSO--you start to notice things you never really paid attention to.

Duck crossing sign near my house.

Some pretty flowers.

I took these down at Cape May when I went whale watching.  I didn't see any whales but we did see many dolphins.

I was behind a cable van on my way to work.
Some more orange and black on my way to work.
My coffee cup--a basic morning necessity.
Hope you enjoyed!

Here is an excerpt from my other blog:
In my creative expressions, I am seeking a way to capture the energy of a moment.  With photography, it may just be the way a tree curves against the sky or the way the light hits a certain object.
