Last Song: Haiku

the sky cracks open
to let fall the autumn leaves;
summer's lullabye.

FSO: Match the Quote

The Friday Shoot Out this week is to take a quote and match it to pictures from around town.  Being a big fan of quotes, I like this challenge.  I talk about my love of language in my previous post Why I Love Poetry.  Unfortunately, I will have to choose some photos from my archive since I lost the charger to my camera battery.  I had to order a new one that hasn't arrived yet.  I couldn't resist the creative challenge of this topic, though, so I hope you don't mind!
"And all this time, the river flowed Endlessly to the sea"--Sting (from his song All This Time).  I love this song and consider it part of my personal gospel.

 "There are two means of refuge from the misery of life - music and cats." ~Albert Schweitzer

 "I think it pisses God off when you walk by the colour purple in a field and don't notice it." Shug from The Color Purple I never saw the movie but the book is one of my all time favorites and is by Alice Walker.

"The caged bird sings with

A fearful trill of things unknown
But longed for still and his
Tune is heard on the distant hill
For the caged bird sings of freedom." --Maya Angelou from her poem I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
Here's the link if you want to read the entire poem:
She also has an autobiography called I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings which I really enjoyed reading.

I hope you enjoyed!
